The course of true love never did run smooth...

Synopsis from IMDB:
After his eccentric teacher casts him as Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Timothy stumbles upon a recipe hidden within the script to create the plays magical, purple love-pansy.

Armed with the pansy, Timothys fading spirit soars as he puckishly imposes a new reality by turning much of his narrow-minded town gay, beginning with the rugby-jock of his dreams. Ensnaring family, friends and enemies in this heart-wrenching chaos, Timothy forces them to live his kind of life for themselves. The course of true love never did run smooth, but by the end of the film (based on director Tom Gustafsons prolific short film Fairies) the bumpy ride comes to a conclusion.

Directed by Tom Gustafson

The Song:

I see their knavery.
This is to make an ass of me.
To fright me, if they could.

But I will not stir from this place, do what they can.
I will work, up and down here.

And I will sing, that they shall hear.
That I am not, I am not afraid.
I am not afraid.

I know not by what power I'm made bold.
But still you flout my insufficiency.
The more my prayer, the lesser is my grace.

My ear should catch your voice, my eye your eye.
My tongue should catch your tongue's sweet melody.
My tongue, your tongue, were the world mine.

And I will sing, that they shall hear.
That I am not, I am not afraid.
I am not afraid!

Faeries away! Fetch me that flower...
Up and down, and up and down,
I will lead them up and down.

Faeries away! Swift as a shadow...
Up and down, and up and down,
I will lead them up and down!

Oh why rebuke, you him that loves you so?!
Lay breath so bitter, on your bitter foe.
On your bitter foe!

What angel wakes me from my flowery bed?
I pray thee gentle mortal, sing again.
I pray thee gentle mortal, sing again.

Mine ear is much enamour'd of thy note.
So is mine eye enthralled into thy shape,
I'll follow thee, I'll follow thee,
and make a Heaven of Hell...
I'll follow thee, I'll follow thee,
and make a Heaven of Hell...
And make a Heaven of Hell!

Faeries away! Fetch me that flower...
Up and down, and up and down,
I will lead them up and down.

Faeries away! Swift as a shadow...
Up and down, and up and down,
I will lead them up and down!

Faeries away! Fetch me that flower...
Up and down, and up and down,
I will lead them up and...

Faeries away! Swift as a shadow...
Up and down, and up and down,
I will lead them up and down!

My ear should catch your voice...
My eye should catch your eye...
My tongue, your tongue...
Were the world mine...

Beautiful song on past loves and loving memories.
Incredible voice.

my Favorite song from Joan Baez

Well, I'll be damned
Here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you happened to call
And here I sit
Hand on the telephone
Hearing a voice I'd known
A couple of light years ago
Heading straight for a fall

As I remember your eyes
Were bluer than robin's eggs
My poetry was lousy you said
Where are you calling from?
A booth in the Midwest
Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks
You brought me something
We both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust

Well, you burst on the scene, already a legend
The unwashed phenomenon
The original vagabond
You strayed into my arms
And there you stayed
Temporarily lost at sea
The Madonna was yours for free
Yes, the girl on the half-shell
Could keep you unharmed

Now I see you standing with brown leaves falling around
And snow in your hair
Now you're smiling out the window of that crummy hotel
Over Washington Square
Our breath comes out white clouds
Mingles and hangs in the air
Speaking strictly for me
We both could have died then and there

Now you're telling me you're not nostalgic
Then give me another word for it
You who are so good with words
And at keeping things vague
'Cause I need some of that vagueness now
It's all come back too clearly
Yes, I once loved you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust
I've already paid

Please put me to sleep
If there's room beneath your feet
See, I left my home
I could not get used to living alone

Put me to rest
Lay your head on my chest
Hold my hand
When you leave
Don't wake me up
Just to see how you say goodbye

Maybe I could be yours
Maybe you could be mine
God, I waited so long
Maybe my time has come
To walk by your side

Please put me at ease
Now my soul is ready for peace
Give me the lover's curse
Now I am ready for you
My rebel, my hope

Maybe I could be yours
Maybe you could be mine
God, I waited so long
Maybe my time has come
To walk by your side

Maybe I could be yours
Maybe you could be mine
Maybe I could be yours
God, I waited so long
To walk by your side
God, I waited so long
To walk by your side

For Loïc

Even though I have to let go your hand
Without any chance of seeing you tomorrow again
Nothing, no one will ever break this bond.

Even though you need to go afar
Burn bridges and hop on many planes
Love is stronger than despair.

Love that beats in both our hearts
Will transform pain into pleasure
Like lead changes into gold.

You still have so many beautiful things
To live and you will see that
There is truly someplace over the rainbow
Where blue lilacs are in bloom,
There is so much ahead of you.

Even though I watch over you from afar
Whatever you do
whatever happens to you
I will be by your side like in the old days.

Even though you drift away out of sight
Happiness and lightness will return
soonner that you would have ever thought.

In the space between earth and skies
Is hidden the greatest of all mysteries
Like a haze over dawn
So many beautiful things still hidden to you

Faith is stronger than any hurdle
Or again the spring of light in your soul,
Think about this when you lay your head:
Love is stronger than it all.

One of the most beautiful buildings of Paris, at least one of my favorites, a stone throw from Place des Victoires.
Rue Croix des Petits Champs

I am lucky enough to bike to and from work everyday and to go by this beautiful example of architecture.
Paris is such a beautiful city!

40 is looming closer and closer: Last April 29th was my birthday... not exactly a very happy perspective as I did not feel exactly like celebrating...
So I was quite happy when a month or so ago I saw that Anna Ternheim was going to come to Paris to sing at Café de la Danse (a small and intimate concert hall near Bastille).

Concert was great: she sang her new album in concert special versions 'Leaving on a Mayday' with a very good  team of musicians: piano, drummer, bassist, vocalist etc...
The first part was good too but unfortunately I don't remember their names (Swedish girl a
and guy, really really good!)

Anna speaks French quite well. She was obviously quite tensed at the beginning of the concert, but quite chatty at the end.

Such an unforgettable birthday evening! Thank you Anna, you made my day!
